Happily Ever After Bridal Dresses!

A ball gown wedding dress is the most formal gown a Bride can wear and it’s the closest to a princess many Brides will ever get. The ball gown silhouette has a fitted waist with a full, flared skirt. This style is best suited for formal weddings.

Fairy tale themed weddings are a big trend right now! Imagine pastel colors, carriages, big ball gown bridal dresses and sparkles...everywhere! Little girls’ dreams are coming true all over the place!

Alright, why are many Brides obsessed with having a fairy tale wedding? I blame growing up with Walt Disney Princess movies. It’s no mystery why so many of us have waited for our Prince Charming to whisk us off to our happily ever after, adorable talking animals, singing serving ware and all.

So, be a real Princess for the day and try on as many bridal ball gowns as your heart desires!

Here are some very Fairy Tale options!…

A-line Bridal Gowns For Every Bride!

This gown is form fitting around the torso and flares outward at the natural waist in an A-shape, as its name suggests.

A-line gowns are currently the most popular bridal dresses and it’s easy to see why.

The great thing about A-line wedding dresses is that they flatter every Bride’s shape and size. The A-line shape extends the length of the body, which makes a shorter body seem longer and a rounder figure seem slimmer.

The A-line’s full skirt can also hide the lower body to conceal problem areas or add the illusion of curves on a narrow physique.

Also, with the A-line shape, your eye is drawn to the cinching at the waist, which is the slimmest part of a woman’s body. Therefore, your waist will appear narrower, how great is that?!

Take a look at these universally flattering A-lines…

Mermaid Gowns for Glamorous Brides!

If you’re a Bride looking for an alluring, dramatic dress with star quality, the mermaid gown is the wedding dress for you!

A mermaid dress is a long gown that is close fitting through the bodice, down through the hips and flares at the knees, which creates a charming sea-maid effect. It is ideal for lean bodies since it creates curves and enhances hourglass shapes as well.

The mermaid dress style was a popular choice for Hollywood starlets in the mid to late 1950s. This classic and glamorous gown shape has stood the test of time and is consistently seen on fashion runways everywhere.

Mermaid bridal gowns remain a popular style with many Brides. The snug fitting form and flare at the knee gives the silhouette a dramatic, glamorous look.

If you want a wedding gown that is enchanting with a striking silhouette, put yourself in a mermaid dress!

Here are a few stunners…

Are You Looking for Your Dream Destination Wedding Dress?

If you’re having a destination wedding you have so many great bridal gowns to choose from at House of Brides!

Destination wedding attire tends to be less formal. The dresses usually have lighter fabrics and more simple designs. It’s also common to see shorter length dresses for destination weddings.

A few things to keep in mind when shopping for your destination bridal dress: Keep with the theme of the wedding. If you’re having a beach wedding, try dresses that have a flowy fabric and not a lot of fuss.

If you’re saying, “I do” in Las Vegas, try on fun wedding dresses. Think feathers, crystals, shorter lengths and overall showstoppers!

If you’re getting married in an exotic location, try on unique bridal gowns. Think about an asymmetrical feature or an accessory that is an instant eye catcher!

The Girl’s Girl Wedding Dress…in Pink!

Lately, there have been pink wedding dresses appearing in popular designer bridal collections. Pink bridal attire adds more femininity and romance to the entire bridal ensemble.

Reese Witherspoon wore a soft pink bridal dress at her spring wedding earlier this year. That may have kick-started the trend!

Allure Bridals 2012 Spring Collection features a Blossom colored wedding gown with a fit and flare silhouette made of a rich taffeta. The strapless bodice has a sweetheart neckline and is ruched asymmetrically. The dropped waist is accented with a Swarovski crystal brooch.

David Tutera for Mon Cheri’s 2012 Spring Collection has a Rose colored wedding dress in tulle and lace with a scalloped neckline. The bodice is hand-beaded and has an embroidered lace appliquéd with a dramatic, asymmetrically dropped waistline. The side draped ruffled multi-tiered skirt reveals a tulle underskirt and chapel length train.

Saison Blanche 2011 Spring Collection showcases a Champagne colored bridal gown featuring a sheer Silk Organza beaded bodice in Swarovski Crystals and a Silk Organza skirt. The low dropped waistline and full skirt is finished with a chapel length train.

Wedding dresses for the Vintage Lovers!

Vintage clothing has garnered popularity in recent years. “Vintage” is clothing from the 1920s to 1960s. Vintage-inspired bridal gowns lend their style to these specific fashion eras. A vintage wedding dress is timeless and can range in design from elaborate to simple.

Vintage clothing and accessories make a woman look like such a lady! Think Jackie Onassis, Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly. All are eloquent perfection!

Jackie O personified youthful finesse with an eye on fashion-forward styles. Audrey Hepburn was known for her classic and chic sense. Grace Kelly had a flawless sophistication and wore luxe fabrics and elegant designs.

Brides looking for vintage-inspired bridal attire can find their perfect fit at House of Brides!

Jackie O would have worn this fashion-forward strapless gown with a delicate hand-beaded allover lace sheath with an illusion overlay.

This bridal outfit suits Audrey’s clean mod style. A simple mermaid gown is paired with a beaded ¾-quarter sleeve bolero.

This bridal dress is a modern take on Grace Kelly’s regal style! Classic Lace is vamped with rich embellishment.

Are You Having a Winter Wonderland Wedding?

Although I feel the stork should have dropped me off on a Caribbean island instead of the Midwest with it’s super cold winters, I do enjoy the beauty and romance of a winter wedding, especially the wedding dress!

One of my favorite things about winter esque wedding dresses is a delicate jacket that adds such an elegant romance….and keeps the Bride warm! The neckline of the jacket also adds interest and gives the whole bridal gown a stronger, more stunning statement.

Another thing I love about winter wedding dress jackets is that Lace is usually incorporated in the fabric. What girl doesn’t appreciate how lovely Lace can look? It’s a classic look that can make a woman feel like she’s an unforgettable moment in time.

For winter Brides who do not want a bridal gown with a jacket, shorter sleeves can look wonderful as well. A great sleeve length that compliments a winter wedding is a cap sleeve. It’s simple but still adds just the right amount of loveliness!

Check out some of my favorite winter wonderland wedding dresses!….
